Radar Festival 2024
Published 31st July 2024
Radar Festival 2024 is complete.
As the dust settles, we look back at what was and always is one the UK’s most exciting and unique music festivals. Now residing in Victoria Warehouse in Manchester – it is a celebration of all things progressive and though lineups are carefully curated, attendees are treated to a rich and diverse mix of sub-genres. Because of this, the festival earnt itself UK Festival Award’s 2022 ‘Best New Festival’
One of the many reasons for deserving such an award is the variety of entertainment options available to visitors – retro arcades machines, indie apparel pop ups and even a master class room for intimate Q & A’s. In the unlikely event that you need a break from the music, there’s always something to do – especially for musicians!
With such a high cross over between festival goers and musicians, the entire upper floor of the warehouse is dedicated to the ‘Music Market’ – a vast array of stands catering to budding composers and performers. Our Audiolab was set up within the heart of the market, displaying a wide range of synthesisers from Arturia, ASM, Buchla, Expressive E, Dreadbox & PWM – all hooked up and ready to play.
For those of the 6 string persuasion, our guitar stand gave players the explore the potential of the H90 and experience first hand, the wonders of Vega Trem – all safe in the hands of Mogami’s cable for life. Our resident guitarist Niko could be found backstage with the same set up and spent the weekend demoing the above to the artists.
As would be expected, Rode was ever present at Radar this year. The podcasting lounge played host to interviews with various artists throughout the weekend, using the full Rode podcast set up as the best choice of gear.
The now infamous ‘scream booth’ made it’s return to the market, where attendees got the chance to show of their volume and potentially win prizes if they could then master the claw machine. The microphone of choice to handle such volume? – The Rode Podmic of course! Various other stalls around the market could be found kitted out with Podmics & PSA1+’s and we saw various influencers and content creators sporting the new Phonecage and mic attachments.
It’s a truly unique experience working at Radar and always inspiring to see how many fans of the festival are interested in creating music themselves. The Music Market creates a wonderful environment to showcase some of the most cutting edge equipment in the industry to novices and experts alike.
